collaborative partnership between Brunel University London and Constellium to develop low-carbon aluminium extruded alloys for structural electric vehicle applications has been awarded funding from the UK government.

Professor Cameron Pleydell-Pearce, a Tata Steel sponsored lecturer at Swansea University, who not only shared a stand at the MetalsExpo representing the Sustain initative alongside the Transforming Foundation Industries network, but was also a keynote speaker at the event.

UK Steel’s Director, Gareth Stace, shares his thoughts on the new UK government and the importance of industry events such as the UK Metals Expo.

Researchers from the University of Birmingham have designed a novel adaptation for existing iron and steel furnaces that could reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from the steelmaking industry by nearly 90%.

To create a Net-Zero steel sector in the UK and meet Government targets, a new report from UK Steel calls for a renewed focus on establishing a positive policy environment for steelmaking.
