DeepForm Limited, a UK start-up, is revolutionising the automotive industry with their groundbreaking pressing technique aimed at minimising trimming scrap. By implementing this novel method, scrap reduction of up to 85% can be achieved, leading to significant emissions reductions and cost savings. Currently, the auto industry discards almost half of the metal purchased for body components due to excessive trimming.
DeepForm Limited is actively collaborating with multiple automotive OEMs and the supply chain to introduce this game-changing technology. They are currently engaged in fabricating a proof of concept toolset, funded by a major auto OEM, which will showcase a remarkable 40% reduction in material required to produce the same panel found in current road vehicles.
We’ll share an overview of our novel solution, and case studies on applying the method to automotive geometries.
